Orient Express Paris: Gare de l'Est, where it all began

The Gare de l'Est, located in the 10th arrondissement, is much more than a train station - it is a symbol of the beginning of one of the world's most famous routes. It was from here that, on October 4, 1883, the first Orient Express train left for Constantinople (now Istanbul). The journey took several days and crossed the heart of Europe, connecting cultures, histories and landscapes.

Today, the Gare de l'Est remains a vibrant and historic station. With 19th century architectural features and an atmosphere that invites you to set off, it's a place where you can breathe in travel.

For lovers of trains, history and travel, it's a must-see. Walking through its corridors is like taking a trip back in time. Leather suitcases, umbrellas and dreams of adventure still seem to echo off the walls. It's worth looking at the station's architecture, the old signs and the constant movement - a real tribute to the power of travel.

Tip: Next to the main entrance, there is a plaque marking the historic departures of the Orient Express. A symbolic detail that deserves a photo!
