The day I became a Pastry Chef - Pastéis de Nata Workshop

Another workshop

Those of you who already know me are probably thinking, "Yet another workshop!".

I love learning, and cooking has become a passion. There's no doubt that the popular saying "Difficulty sharpens ingenuity" applies here. It wasn't until I left my mother's house that I discovered I liked cooking. My mother was a great cook. And she often urged me to start cooking, to learn. But I think the fact that my mother cooked so well made me (even unconsciously) think that it wasn't worth it because my cooking would never be as good as hers. Today I obviously regret it, because I could have taken the opportunity to learn from her... But I learned so many other things that it's not worth regretting now.

The day I became a pastry chef

This time I went to take part in a Pastéis de Nata workshop. Myself and a group of Travel and Gastronomy Bloggers (because, after all, gastronomy is also intrinsically linked to the act of traveling) were the "guinea pigs" for the first Pastéis de Nata Workshop at Pastelaria Batalha, in collaboration with the Lisbon Food Guide. And you too can take part. Interested? Then read on...
