A Villa with a Private Pool
This year more than ever, travel safety is on the agenda. And the most popular accommodation options are those where you have as little contact with other guests as possible. That's what I was looking for during my 4-day stay in the Algarve. Three friends and I stayed at the Vale da Lapa Village Resort. As the name suggests, it's a resort in Sesmarias, Carvoeiro, Lagoa.
Vale da Lapa Village Resort is a 5-star tourist resort belonging to the Details Hotels group. It is located between Carvoeiro and Ferragudo.
The resort consists of 2 types of accommodation. Houses with 2 bedrooms, and houses with 3 bedrooms and a private pool. I stayed in a 3-bedroom house with a private pool. The house has two floors, 3 bedrooms (suites), a large living room with sofa and dining table, guest toilet, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. For coffee lovers like me, there's good news: the houses have a coffee machine (Dolce Gusto), you just need to bring your own capsules, but if you forget, there's a small supermarket with essentials inside the resort.
In the Garden we have a swimming pool with a sun lounger area and a large table for meals.
One of the bedrooms is on the top floor, a suite with a bathtub and a terrace overlooking the private pool and the sea.
There is the option of accommodation with breakfast and light meals. Meals are currently only available on a take-away basis, delivered to the accommodation or picked up at the restaurant. The menus are available in digital format and QRCode. Orders have always been placed via WhatsApp and delivered to the accommodation at the agreed time.
The Breakfast includes fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms and cold meats. Various types of cheese, bread and croissants. Sweets, jams, nutella and butter. Natural juices, coffee and espresso. Pancakes and mini puff pastries and various other pastries. A great way to start the day by the pool.
The Light Meals (For Lunch and/or Dinner), they include, among other options, burgers, salads, pizzas and toasts.
The resort also has a Organic and Vegan Spa, D'SpaIt has an indoor swimming pool and a gym. I had a massage and loved it.
The resort also has other services such as two bars, a communal swimming pool and, as I've already mentioned, a small supermarket for everyday essentials. There's free Wi-Fi and a Kids Club. There's also free private parking inside the resort.
Vale da Lapa is a "Clean & Safe" accommodation, so it complies with all the safety and hygiene rules required due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the rules is that the houses are only cleaned when guests are not there, for example.
The Villas can accommodate 6 adults plus 1 adult in an extra bed. Or 5 adults plus 2 children in extra beds (up to 12 years old). You can also ask for a picnic basket to take to the beach.
It was undoubtedly four days very well spent, with friends, in safety and in a fantastic place with many options for excursions.
As well as relaxing by the pool, we also strolled around Carvoeiro and went to the Algar Seco and Bonecawe visited the Quinta Morgado do Quintão, and Benagil Cave.
